PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE
PLANNING AND ZONING BOARD MEETING
VIA COMMUNICATION MEDIA TECHNOLOGY ONLINE
CITY OF RIVIERA BEACH, PALM BEACH COUNTY, FLORIDA
The Riviera Beach Planning and Zoning Board, will conduct an online public hearing via communication media technology on Thursday, May 28, 2020 at 6:30 PM or soon thereafter, and from time to time thereafter as necessary, to consider the following item (abridged):
AN ORDINANCE CREATING A NEW ZONING DISTRICT ENTITLED, “SP SPECIAL PRESERVATION DISTRICT”, COINCIDING WITH THE CITY’S COMPREHENSIVE PLAN FUTURE LAND USE ELEMENT FOR SPECIAL PRESERVATION AREAS; AND AMENDING THE CITY’S ZONING MAP BY ASSIGNING A SPECIAL PRESERVATION ZONING DISTRICT DESIGNATION TO ANY AND ALL LAND AREA CURRENTLY HAVING A SPECIAL PRESERVATION FUTURE LAND USE DESIGNATION ACCORDING TO THE CITY’S COMPREHENSIVE PLAN AND FUTURE LAND USE MAP, IN ORDER TO PROVIDE CONSISTENCY BETWEEN THE CITY’S FUTURE LAND USE MAP AND ZONING MAP, WHICH WILL IMPACT REAL PROPERTY OR PORTIONS THEREOF, LOCATED NORTH OF PINE POINT ROAD AND WEST OF NORTH OCEAN DRIVE IN THE CITY OF RIVIERA BEACH.
Interested parties may view this meeting through the City’s website, www.rivierabeach.org, and be heard with respect to the proposed item(s) being considered. Public comments may be mailed in advance to “City of Riviera Beach, ATTN: Development Services Dept., 600 W. Blue Heron Blvd., Riviera Beach, FL 33404”, or may be emailed to JGagnon@RivieraBeach.org . Due to COVID-19, Building Division Staff are working a modified schedule.
Beginning Monday May 18, 2020, additional permit types for new application submittals will be accepted at our City Hall location, 600 W Blue Heron Blvd, by appointment only. Next day appointments will be scheduled as deemed necessary. Adherence to social distancing requirements will strictly be enforced.
Applications for single trades will continue to be accepted and processed using this Building e-mail. As well as Recorded NOC’s and updated contractors’ information. Please allow 24 to 48 hours for application review and processing.
Permit pick-up will continue by appointment only. All fee’s must be processed prior to permit issuance.
Payments will continue to be accepted using the Water Utilities Drop Box located adjacent to the Water Utilities Drive-Thru. Please include permit application invoice with a check or money order payable to the City of Riviera Beach.
The Planning & Zoning Division collects, maintains and distributes information related to short and long term land planning and development that affects the City, its citizens and other interested groups. Planning and Zoning assists in the process of land development and building construction within the City through the review of plats, zoning, development codes, and site plans. In addition, the Division provides staff support for commissions and other City Council appointed committees. It is the intent of the Division to provide the City Council and Boards with recommendations for positive changes which enhance and improve the quality of life in the City of Riviera Beach.
