WHO WE ARE?

The Office of the City Clerk is the statutory custodian entrusted with diverse duties, wherein many are performed directly by the City Clerk and others by our staff. The City Clerk serves the municipal corporation, its elected officials, the Utility Special District and its Board of Directors and has the sole authority to execute and emboss documents with the City's seal to make them official.

 

Other duties include:

  • Attends all City Council and Utility Special District meetings, including special and joint meetings as well as workshops.

  • Serves as the City’s and Utility Special District’s official depository for agreements, contracts, leases, unity of titles, deeds, municipal bonds, annexations, meeting minutes and municipal adopted laws.

  • Executes all resolutions, ordinances, minutes, and adopted or bonds issued by the City Council/Board of Directors.

  • Attests agreements, contracts, leases and other legal instruments to which the City/Utility Special District is party and assumes liability.

  • Administers oath of office to personnel required by State statute and City ordinance.

  • Provides public information services.

  • Serves as the Supervisor of Elections for municipal elections.
