Meet the Director 

 

Ms. Tennille DeCoste

Director of Human Resources and Risk Management

Ms. Tennille DeCoste has always had a knack for leading, teaching and assisting those in need. This was solidified upon her attaining her Bachelor’s Degree in Public Administration with a Certificate specializing in Human Resources from Barry University in 2007. She would continue to earn her Master’s Degree in Human Resources Development and Administration in 2009. Ms. DeCoste is certified in Human Resources, Certified Mediator from the Florida Supreme Court, Certified in Investigations, Employee & Labor Relations and Employment Law from Cornell University.

Tennille has been an integral part of the Human Resources industry and working for different municipalities for over 22 years. She has Currently, the Director of Human Resources and Risk Management with the City of Riviera Beach. She has Operations and Administration experience working as the Assistant Director of Parks and Recreation, Assistant Director of Public Works and Director of Human Resources at different municipalities. She volunteers her time providing Human Resources needs to Non-profits and organizations. With a rich background in community service and a deep commitment to education. Tennille has dedicated a significant part of her life to empowering the youth and advocating for educational equity. As a passionate supporter for education, Tennille has developed and led numerous training sessions focused on teaching children essential reading skills and preparing them for real-world challenges. These sessions have not only helped students academically but also equipped them with the life skills necessary to navigate their futures confidently.

Tennille is also known for her advocacy work with the National Coalition of 100 Black Women, South Palm Beach County where she has been a vocal champion for educational reforms and initiatives aimed at closing the achievement gap for students of color. Through policy advocacy and community engagement, they have contributed significantly to the advancement of educational opportunities and resources for underserved communities.



In addition to her advocacy, Tennille has generously volunteered her time with seniors at different high schools, providing invaluable guidance on work readiness and college applications. Their efforts have helped numerous students gain the confidence and skills needed to pursue higher education and embark on successful careers.



Recognizing the importance of accessible education for all, Tennile has been instrumental in bringing diverse educational programs to various cities, significantly impacting the community's access to quality education and enrichment opportunities. These programs have ranged from academic tutoring to cultural awareness workshops, all designed to foster a love for learning and personal growth among students. Through her unwavering commitment to community service and education, Tennille has made a lasting impact on countless individuals and communities. Their work exemplifies a dedication to nurturing the potential of the youth and advocating for a more equitable and inclusive educational landscape. Ms. DeCoste is married with three children and two grandchildren.
