Library Director - Adam Brody

Mr. Brody's library career spans across the northeast and southeast regions, starting at a large public library entity in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, all the way to the academic library realm spanning Central and South Florida. Within the public library sector, Mr. Brody evolved through various library support capacities, where he received award winning recognition for his library advocacy efforts. Upon transitioning into academia, Mr. Brody gained extensive experience in library management, overseeing operations at the career college and university levels. Within Mr. Brody's last leadership role, he oversaw operations for six campus library locations, spanning Central Florida, South Florida, and a virtual campus. Mr. Brody has now returned to his public library roots as the Riviera Beach Public Library Director in order to help our team and entire community take the library to new heights. His goal is to establish the Riviera Beach Public Library as the prime community, cultural, and educational based entity for the entire city.

Children's Librarian - Sharmain Arnold

Ms. Arnold represents the heart and soul of the Riviera Beach Public Library! Her presence represents an institution in itself for the community. With a career spanning close to thirty years, Ms. Arnold's connections and relationships with families and community entities run very deep. Every week, one will notice that our Children's Department is a prime destination for the youngest members of our community, with its extensive library collection, games, computers, and activities. In addition to Ms. Arnold's work with children, she has also been a key player in providing critical input as it relates to what our new library will need in conjunction with "Reimagine Riviera Beach." Also, prior to the demolition of our previous library, Ms. Arnold was the one who provided reflections and perspectives for all to view regarding the previous location on Channel 5 News. Ms. Arnold's expertise and experience will be the catalyst which will continue to inspire the Riviera Beach Public Library to greatness. Her recognition as one of the City of Riviera Beach's Employee of the Year award recipients certainly validates this prediction.

April Jiles - Adult Librarian

When it comes to connecting our community and library transformation, nobody does it like our Adult Librarian – April Jiles. Whether it’s through outreach or through innovative programming, the leadership of Ms. Jiles has taken the Riviera Beach Public Library to heights never before seen. Under Ms. Jiles’s leadership, she has pioneered specialty spinoffs of our signature literacy initiative, “Conversations, Connections, and Literacy.” This includes a variation that caters specifically to the veteran experience and the integration of musically themed editions. In addition, Ms. Jiles has been instrumental in helping the Riviera Beach Public Library act as a haven for our local artists and authors. Ms. Jiles’s contributions span well before she became our Adult Librarian. Even as a Library Assistant, Ms. Jiles successfully digitized and curated historical newspapers such as the National Black Monitor and Florida Photo News for our community through the Content DM Platform, which has garnered notice in the academic field. Ms. Jiles’s contributions represent the embodiment of “Reimagining” library services for the community.
