RIVIERA BEACH’S URBAN FARM SELECTED FOR THE 2022 NIAGARA PERK

YOUR PARK CONTEST

RIVIERA BEACH, FL. (Aug. 11, 2022) – The Urban Farm in Riviera Beach has been

selected as part of ten projects in the 2022 Niagara Perk Your Park Contest.

This initiative focuses on park and community space revitalization across the country.

To encourage public engagement with these spaces, improvements will include

community gardens, updated playgrounds, new trail amenities, and other ways

communities can connect with nature and the outdoors. Since 2016, Niagara has

partnered with the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA) to revitalize parks

and outdoor community spaces across the U.S. Through the organization’s charitable

division, Niagara Cares, we’re committed to making a difference.

“The Urban Farm has proven that the more sustainable a community is, the more

resilient it is,” Parks and Recreation Director Richard Blankenship said. “Having access

to fresh produce, wellness education and sustainability education benefits the City in so

many ways. Continued funding for the Urban Farm means continued improvement in

the well-being of our City.”

The contest runs from Aug. 1 to Sept. 12, with the three winning park projects receiving

a renovation worth $75,000. You can vote for The Urban Farm
