RIVIERA BEACH POLICE UNDERCOVER OPERATION NETS DOZENS ON DRUG CRIMES
RIVIERA BEACH, FL. (DEC. 19, 2022) – An undercover investigation initiated by members of
the Riviera Beach Police Department’s Vice Unit earlier this month, sparked by community
complaints about street level drug activity in the City, netted nearly 60 individuals for drugrelated
crimes.
The 7-month-long “Operation Time Capsule” investigation targeted street level drug dealers who
had a negative impact on the quality of life for those in neighborhoods where drug sales were
prevalent. During the operation, a drug related homicide occurred in the City, resulting in three
arrests.
The Riviera Beach Police Department on Dec. 2, with the assistance of the Palm Beach County
Sheriff’s Office, Jupiter Police Department, West Palm Beach Police Department, Department of
Homeland Security, Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco Firearm & Explosives (ATF), The Drug
Enforcement Administration (DEA) and the U.S Marshals Fugitive Taskforce, executed the
arrest phase of the operation. Currently, 56 arrests have been made out of the 78 targets of the
operation.
“This operation highlights the partnerships the Riviera Beach Police Department has with local
and federal law enforcement agencies,” Police Chief Josh Lewis said. “These relationships and
partnerships have made our community a safer place and made our Police Department a better
agency.”
