ARREST MADE IN ARMED CARJACKING CASE: RIVIERA BEACH POLICE DEPARTMENT
RIVIERA BEACH, (August 14th, 2023) — The Riviera Beach Police Department has successfully identified and apprehended a male juvenile suspect in connection with an armed carjacking incident that occurred on August 3rd, 2023, in the 2400 block of Avenue E.
In the early hours of August 3rd, 2023, at approximately 12:13 a.m., a distressing incident unfolded as an adult male victim and his 15-year-old daughter found themselves confronted by an unknown individual. The assailant, brandishing a firearm, forcibly commanded the victims out of their vehicle, which was parked in the 2400 block of Avenue E within the city of Riviera Beach. The suspect then fled the scene with the victims' vehicle, leaving them shaken and alarmed.
The Riviera Beach Police Department’s dedicated investigation led to the identification of a male juvenile suspect linked to the armed carjacking. On August 14th, 2023, this juvenile suspect was taken into custody without incident. The young individual now faces a series of serious charges, including:
- (1) count of Carjacking with a Firearm
- (2) counts of Aggravated Assault with a Firearm
- (1) count of Grand Theft Auto
The swift and diligent action taken by law enforcement underscores their commitment to ensuring the safety and security of our community. The male juvenile suspect has been processed and booked into the Juvenile Assessment Center. The Riviera Beach Police Department will continue to work closely with the legal system to ensure a fair and just resolution to this case.
