The railroad crossing at Blue Heron Blvd. in Riviera Beach will close at 7 a.m., Sunday, December 17, 2023 through Wednesday, December 20, 2023. The closure will allow rehabilitation of the existing track to repair rails and roadway profiles and improve traffic and rail safety. Motorists should proceed with extra caution through work zones and adhere to posted detour signs, speed limits and instructions from work crews.
Detour information:
• Westbound Blue Heron Blvd. traffic will be directed to travel south on US-1 to 13th St., travel west on 13th St. to Pres. Barack Obama Hwy and travel north on Pres. Barack Obama Hwy. to Blue Heron Blvd.
• Eastbound Blue Heron Blvd. traffic will be directed to travel south on Pres. Barack Obama Hwy to 13th St., travel east on 13th St. to US-1 and travel north on US-1 to access Blue Heron Blvd.
• Eastbound Blue Heron Blvd. traffic wishing to access the Riviera Beach Water Treatment Plant, City Hall and the Fire Department will be directed to travel south on Pres. Barack Obama Hwy to 13th St., travel east on 13th St. to US-1 and travel north on US-1 to access westbound Blue Heron Blvd.
