7/18/2024 - Section 3 Businesses and Section 3 Workers

The City of Riviera Beach Utility Special District plans to construct subaqueous force mains to replace existing aerial force mains crossings of the C-17 Canal and the M Canal. It is the City of Riviera Beach Utility Special District preference for contracting with Section 3 businesses and with Section 3 workers to the greatest extent feasible, for low- income or very low-income residents in connection with projects and     activities in their neighborhoods.


Section 3 is a provision of the Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Act of 1968 that helps foster local economic development, neighborhood economic improvement, and individual self-sufficiency. Please refer to the Section 3 Business Outreach Form for more details regarding Section 3, including the criteria of how a business can qualify as Section 3 business. Also, please refer to the Section 3 Worker Outreach Form for more details regarding Section 3, including the criteria of how a worker can qualify as Section 3 worker.
