8/1/2024 - Fire Rescue Announces Relocation of Station 89

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

RIVIERA BEACH FIRE RESCUE ANNOUNCES RELOCATION OF FIRE STATION 89

Riviera Beach, FL. (August 1, 2024) Starting mid-August, Riviera Beach Fire Rescue is set to relocate Fire Station 89 from 7501 N Military Trl to Fire Station 88 at 1920 W Blue Heron Blvd. This move marks the end of a 30-year lease arrangement with the Veterans Affairs Medical Center, which owns the current Fire Station 89 site. The West Palm Beach VA Healthcare System plans to repurpose the property to expand mental health services for Veterans.

Despite an exhaustive search for alternative properties in the area, no suitable locations were found. However, Riviera Beach Fire Rescue remains committed to serving the West Community efficiently. Utilizing advanced "Emergency Vehicle Preemption Systems" (EVP), emergency response vehicles will be granted priority at signalized intersections, ensuring quicker response times and enhancing safety for all residents.

"As we transition Fire Station 89 to its new location, our primary focus remains on maintaining the highest level of emergency response for the community. We are dedicated to adapting and overcoming any challenges to continue providing the exceptional service Riviera Beach residents deserve," said Fire Chief John Curd.

While there are no current plans to build a new fire station in the West Community, Riviera Beach Fire Rescue assures the community that their high standard of service will not waver. Our team of highly trained professionals is committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of our residents.
