1/3/2025 - Planned Hydrant Flushing in Woodbine

PLANNED HYDRANT FLUSHING Riviera Beach see what's beneath the surface As part of our commitment to maintaining high water quality and ensuring the reliability of our water distribution system, the City of Riviera Beach Utility Special District will be conducting hydrant flushing in the Woodbine Community. This is a standard annual practice required for all water utilities. Dates: January 6th to 13th, 2025 Time: 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. What to Expect: • Temporary Water Discoloration: During flushing, you may notice a temporary yellow, orange, or brown tint in your water. This discoloration is caused by naturally occurring mineral deposits being stirred up in the pipes. • Possible Pressure Fluctuations: You may experience a temporary decrease in water pressure while flushing is in progress. What You Should Do: 1. Avoid using water, especially for laundry or dishwashing, during the flushing hours if possible. 2. If you notice discolored water, let your cold tap run for 5-10 minutes until it clears. 3. Store water ahead of time for cooking or drinking if you anticipate heavy usage during flushing hours.
