Mayor Thomas A. Masters will convene a press conference with local clergy today at 3 p.m. to address the recent spike in shooting and killings of young people in the local area. The conference will be held in the City’s Utility District conference room, located on the west side of the Municipal Complex, 600 W. Blue Heron Boulevard.
Together, the Mayor and the ecumenical leaders will present a response plan that involves their churches and the community.
“I believe in the power of prayer,” said Mayor Masters, himself a local pastor and bishop. “I believe, together, we can begin to heal this community and help our young people.”
