Passing of a City Employee

In a employee-wide conference call held earlier today, we regrettably announced the passing of a city employee, a resident of Palm Beach County. This individual passed away Tuesday - March 31, 2020 due to complications associated with the coronavirus (COVID- 19). They were employed with the City since July 11, 2016. The employee will be greatly missed and their contributions to our agency will not be forgotten.

In addition, this message also serves as a reminder that we must not take the pandemic lightly. We are requiring that all employees , experiencing COVID-19 related symptoms, to stay home. Employees should also seek medical attention if they believe they may have contracted COVID-19. Furthermore, it is imperative that we continue to use social distancing and other guidelines set by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to protect ourselves and others.

Please know that the City has established an employee helpline for any questions or concerns regarding this matter and other COVID-19 or city operation concerns. Therefore, from Monday to Sunday, between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., employees can call 561-812- 6590 to reach a live person.

In closing, the City is doing everything in its power to ensure that we take all of the precautionary measures necessary to protect your health, safety and welfare, but your cooperation is critical to help curb the impact of the pandemic.

Respectfully Submitted,

Jonathan Evans, MPA, MBA, ICMA-CM City Manager – Riviera Beach
