4/6/2020 - Completely Remote City Operations Effective Monday, April 6, 2020

City Of Riviera Beach Coronavirus community update
2020 COMPLETELY REMOTE CITY OPERATIONS

Effective Monday, April 6, 2020

The City of Riviera Beach has already closed all city-operated facilities and suspended in-person services to the public. In an abundance of caution, on March 23, 2020, city personnel was reassigned into three service categories of primary onsite, primary remote (telecommute), and reserved statuses to provide optimal city services while maintaining appropriate safety protocols. Then on March 30, 2020, the city implemented further measures to combat COVID-19 by closing City Hall and various other city facilities, except the lobby of the police department.

Though staff continues working behind the scenes to provide essential services to residents in these extraordinary times, it is now necessary to do more to protect the health and well-being of our employees and community due to the unprecedented ways the pandemic is affecting our nation and community. Therefore, beginning Monday, April 6, 2020, the city will be completely remote. As a result of this further modified schedule, only critical operations of the utility special district, public works fleet operations, police department, and fire department will remain operational. The city will re-evaluate staffing modification and levels of operations within the next thirty (30) days. Businesses should comply with the Governor’s Emergency Order 20-91, which delineates essential services and activities during the COVID-19 emergency.

Thank you for your patience and understanding as our community collectively works through these challenging times. Please remember to adhere to recommended guidelines and stay safe.
