The mission of the Public Works Department is to provide a safe and efficient community infrastructure, including a reliable road and drainage system for the citizens of Riviera Beach and to maintain the structural integrity, safety and aesthetics of the City's buildings, vehicles, and equipment.

The concerted goal of the department is to always provide excellent Public Works services, internally and externally in a courteous, professional, and timely manner.

Primary Functions

• maintaining the infrastructure and aesthetics of all the public roads within the City
  
• monitoring and maintaining the drainage systems and the cleaning and pruning of vegetation along the ditches and canals
  
• overseeing the repairs and preventive maintenance of all the municipal buildings, vehicles and equipment
  
• conducting sign inspections and replacing/repairing existing traffic control and street signs
  
• repairing of street lights, coordinating with FPL
  
• managing the solid waste service for the City
