Captain Scott Privitera brings over three decades of dedicated service and expertise to his role as Internal Affairs Captain at the Riviera Beach Police Department. A fixture in Palm Beach County since 1976, Captain Privitera's journey began at Boca Raton High School, followed by earning his Bachelor's degree in Public Relations with a minor in Marketing from Eastern Kentucky University in 1988.

Entering law enforcement in 1994, Captain Privitera embarked on a distinguished career spanning 28 years with the Delray Beach Police Department, where he retired in 2022 as a Lieutenant. Throughout his tenure, he demonstrated versatility and proficiency by serving in every division, honing his skills in operational planning, investigations, and training.

Captain Privitera's leadership shines through his extensive experience, including 16 years dedicated to the SWAT team, six of which he spent as the team commander. His commitment to professional development led him to pursue advanced training programs such as the Senior Management Institute for Police (SMIP) at Boston University, Command Officer Development course at the University of Louisville, and the FBI Law Enforcement Executive Development program.

Beyond his law enforcement duties, Captain Privitera remains actively engaged in his community. He shares his passion for sports by coaching baseball for local youth and contributing to Atlantic High School football from 2010 to 2013. Additionally, his collaborative efforts with the Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) were instrumental in revitalizing the West Atlantic Avenue Corridor from 1997 to 2001.

As a Pension Trustee for the City of Delray Beach retirement system, Captain Privitera's dedication extends to ensuring the welfare of his fellow officers beyond the field. With a steadfast commitment to excellence and integrity, Captain Scott Privitera continues to serve as a cornerstone of law enforcement professionalism in Palm Beach County.
