Assistant Chief Michael Madden has been a fixture in Palm Beach County since 1984, when he first set roots in the area after graduating from Wellington Community High School in 1990. With a career spanning over 30 years in law enforcement, Assistant Chief Madden has been an integral part of the Riviera Beach Police Department since 2003.

His journey in law enforcement began in 1993, evolving through various roles from Police Officer to Sergeant and eventually to Lieutenant. Alongside his practical experience, Assistant Chief Madden has invested in his education, earning an Associates Degree from Palm Beach Community College, a Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice from Florida Gulf Coast University, and a Master’s Degree from Florida State University. His commitment to professional development is further evidenced by his graduation from the esteemed 35th Command Officers Development Course at the University of Louisville.

Assistant Chief Madden's ascent within the department is marked by his dedication and leadership. Appointed Commander on March 4, 2007, he assumed the responsibilities of Acting Assistant Chief from October 2011 to September 2013, showcasing his ability to lead and manage during critical periods of transition. Finally, on September 1, 2013, he was officially appointed to the position of Assistant Chief.

With his deep roots in Palm Beach County, extensive experience in law enforcement, and commitment to ongoing education and leadership development, Assistant Chief Michael Madden continues to play a pivotal role in ensuring the safety and security of Riviera Beach and its residents.
