Major Josh Lewis has been an esteemed member of the Riviera Beach Police Department since May 27, 1997, marking over two decades of dedicated service to the community. Throughout his extensive tenure, Major Lewis has been involved in a multitude of task forces, showcasing his versatility and commitment to tackling various challenges head-on.

His assignments have spanned several prestigious task forces, including the Palm Beach County Gang Task Force, the United States Customs Blue Lightning Task Force, and the Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms Task Force, among others. This breadth of experience has equipped Major Lewis with a comprehensive understanding of law enforcement at both local and federal levels.

As he progressed through the ranks, Major Lewis served in diverse capacities within the department, including roles in the Patrol Division, Community Oriented Policing Unit, Tactical Unit, Vice Unit, and the Detective Division. His exemplary performance in these units has been consistently recognized, earning him accolades such as the Department’s Officer of the Year and the Florida Narcotics Agent of the Year award. Additionally, Major Lewis has received numerous Special Commendations from the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office and an Outstanding Officer Award from the United States Attorney’s Office, underscoring his exceptional dedication and contributions to law enforcement.

Major Josh Lewis's commitment to continuous learning and professional development is evident in his academic achievements. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Palm Beach State College and a Master’s Degree from Saint Leo University. Furthermore, Major Lewis is a distinguished graduate of various leadership programs, including the Florida Department of Law Enforcement’s 6th Executive Leadership Academy, the 64th Southern Police Institute’s Command Officers Development Course, and the prestigious FBI National Academy.
