KaShamba Miller-Anderson, Council Member
As a City Councilwoman for Riviera Beach and an Assistant Principal with the Palm Beach County School District, KaShamba Miller-Anderson is both dedicated to the community and the betterment of our youth.
She has served on the city council for 3 years with much of her focus being on increased public safety, supporting Riviera Beach's local schools, fighting for a better quality of life for the residents and economic development that benefits the citizens of Riviera Beach. As an educator, KaShamba has worked for the school district for the past 19 years as an elementary school teacher, reading coach and assistant principal in elementary and middle school. She has a deep passion for education, which was instilled in her by her grandmother Dorothy McRae Greene (an educator for 34 years with the school district).
In 2009, KaShamba became the co-owner of J.D. Anderson Construction, Inc., which is a full-service construction company that specializes in remodeling, new builds, home inspections and construction management.
KaShamba Miller-Anderson was born and raised in Riviera Beach in the Monroe Heights subdivision.
She attended Northboro Elementary School, John F. Kennedy Junior High School and graduated from Suncoast High School. She furthered her love for education by earning an A.A. degree from Palm Beach Community College (General Education), a B.S. degree from Palm Beach Atlantic College (Elementary Education) and a M.S. degree from Nova Southeastern University (Educational Leadership). KaShamba has also taken several graduate courses in the areas of Higher Education, Reading and Public Management.
In her spare time, she enjoys reading, spending time with her family, cooking, dancing, listening to music, singing and traveling. She is married to Joseph Anderson and has two adult sons. KaShamba is also the daughter of Jacquelyn Greene Woodard and Robert D. Miller, Jr.
