Dr. Glen Spiritis, Council Member

Glen Spiritis PhD, with over 30 years of government experience, has served on the City Council since March 2024.
He has previously served as a Former City Manager, Deputy City Manager, Director of Planning & Community Development, Director of Transportation and Public Works Director. Additionally, he taught in the public schools in Long Beach, NY and in the Graduate School of Adelphi University.

Dr. Spiritis has an impressive education, which includes a Doctor of Philosophy Degree (PhD) & Master of Science Degree (MS) in Urban & Environmental Studies from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, New York. He also holds a Professional Degree (PD) in School Administration & Supervision & Bachelor of Arts Degree (BA) in History from Long Island University. Dr. Spiritis is a developer who specializes in building affordable housing. Spiritis also owned & operated a large state of the art marina on Long Island, NY. He has formally served our City as a Board member for the City Riviera Beach Housing Authority & Community Development Corporation.

Dr. Spiritis has been married to Jo-Ann Spiritis for 34 years. Jo-Ann is the former First Deputy County Clerk of Queens County, New York.
They have lived on Singer Island for 25 years. Spiritis continues to use his extensive knowledge & experience to fight for the issues that are important to all Riviera Beach Residents. This includes providing clean safe water, protecting our beautiful waterfront in addition to providing affordable housing.
